Samantha smiled and let out a laugh. “I don’t think you’ll be creepy,”

[/color] she replied looking up at him. “To other people maybe…but never to me.”[/color] Even when he got old and whatnot, she would never leave. She was happy to be with him until the very end. She smiled and looked down at the ring on her hand. Her stomach was fluttering with happiness. She had imagined how she’d react when this moment happened and it wasn’t even close to how she was feeling now. She was practically on cloud nine right now. Nothing could ruin her mood today.

“I’m sure you’d do fine. It’s really not that hard once you get the hang of it,”[/color] she explained. “Maybe I’ll teach you to make something when we go back to the castle.”[/color] She was usually the one that cooked if they stayed in his quarters. She didn’t like going to dinner with everyone anymore, now that she was with him. She liked eating with him, not ignorant and obnoxious kids. She slid her hand back into his just when he was about to order and frowned when she heard a familiar voice saying that he’d pay for their ice cream.

This had definitely dropped her fantastic mood down a few notches. She was not expecting to see Rune here, never mind him seeing her with Teddy. She kept her hand in Teddy’s and tightened her grip slightly as she turned and looked at Rune as he introduced himself to Teddy. She knew that Rune knew who he was. He was a teacher at the school. This could go two different ways. Sam didn’t really want it to go any way, but she knew it was going to happen, regardless.

When Ted spoke, Sam’s eyes widened slightly and she looked up at him. His hair had gone from brown to red, and she was surprised. She had never really seen it this color before. Then again, she had never seen him upset about anything. As he continued to talk, Sam’s mouth fell open. “Teddy!”[/color] she said, when he practically insulted Rune. She wasn’t sure if she should be angry with him or turned on. She had never seen him angry and it was kind of hot. She couldn’t help it. As he looked down at her and questioned her, her hand went to her face and she just shook her head. She had no idea what to say.

None of this was what she expected today. She just wanted a happy day with her boyfriend, off the grounds. Getting engaged was a great plus. As Ted spoke back to Rune, Sam’s eyebrow rose slightly and she rolled her eyes. “Oh Teddy,”[/color] she mumbled under her breath. She wasn’t really in the mood for Rune to join them, but she wasn’t about to open her mouth. She just wanted her ice cream. She looked back over at the counter, and slipped her hand into Teddy’s pocket, pulling some money out for her ice cream. She set it on the counter and picked up her dish. “Might as well get yours too,”[/color] she said, with a smile to Teddy. She looked back at Rune. “You joining us, then?”[/color] she asked. This was going to be interesting.

Rune barely managed to keep the fangs from coming out as Teddy opened his mouth. He bit down hard on his lip as he withdrew his hand, the one that had been at his side clenching into a fist. Was he interrupting, yeah kind of, and yes, he was trying to subtly give them a heads up maybe they should tone it down a notch in public, But above that he was trying to just be nice. If this clown made her happy, so be it, this was what she wanted. He just wanted to make a nice gesture towards the happy couple. And this mutt decides to wheel around like he knows him and be a complete ass? Rune wanted to put his fist through Teddy's teeth, but that wasn't going to help anything. He was just sorta glad Sam seemed to think Teddy was going too far.

"If you by charity you mean just being nice to my ex and her boyfriend, if by following you mean I was on my way here anyway because I'm on a break from helping my uncle and saw her, yes, Maybe she could stand someone like me, because I wasn't a total ass to someone who was actually trying to be nice." Rune replied off the start. He was trying to be the bigger person and all, but Teddy crossed some lines, "I'll admit, I'm a little jealous, but I care enough about Sam that if this is what makes her happy, then I'm willing to be nice and all, because I want her to be happy with whoever she found. Not sure where you got the third wheel thing, but maybe you should have asked someone who ACTUALLY knows me how I am and what kind of person I am you stupid fuck." Rune knew he was out of line and choked down the rest of what he wanted to say. People always talked about him like they knew him and he had a short as all hell temper when it came to that. He wouldn't like it if Sam had said it, but she actually knew him so she had hell of a lot more rights to even say them.

He was going to completely blow off the invitation thing till Sam asked if he would be joining them. "My intent was to just get my own ice cream, try to be nice and give my own little congratulations, and be back on my way to help my uncle." Rune said turning to Sam, fuming from Teddy's comments but trying to still be polite to her. It was clear in his voice he was still on the edge. "Probably better I leave after I get my own, your boyfriend seems to be getting rather territorial." Rune added, seeing as while he had no intent to take a shot at the werewolf lineage, there was no better word to describe how Teddy seemed to be right now.

Sometimes the onset of the temper he never had surprised him. Now, if only his temperament in class could get like this, maybe he would get something done for once. He looked at her as she looked shocked he said some of the things he did. He pursed his lips, ”Let’s face it, we both thought it, don’t be shocked.” He never was very friendly when he got to this mindset. He could be mean to just about anyone at this point. He had been told his father could have a temper if pushed, and he guessed maybe that’s where this came from. Or his mother, she was fiery too if provoked he’d heard. Strange she was a Hufflepuff if that was the case. His thoughts were wandering, and he needed to focus. The boy was speaking to him. He quirked an eyebrow, ”Well, forgive me for not enjoying someone crashing my day off.” He said sarcastically.

The boy was getting snippy, he smiled, ”Ah ah ah, is that how we talk to our elders now, son?” He asked with a wag of his finger. ”I’d say jealousy was natural, I mean, I wouldn’t know, I haven’t really ever had to worry about people leaving me for anyone else, but it does happen I’m sure.” He shrugged, looking at the floor, then back to them as he spoke, his voice being fakely understanding. And now what? He wasn’t sure, he did know one thing though; he wasn’t scared of students, he’d learned that did him no good. ”I have found I’m not even craving sweets anymore, thanks for that.” He said with a nod towards the boy, took a lot of something to make him not want ice cream, or candy or something of the like. ”Well, as it were, I generally don’t get to know students who I don’t care for. Funny how that works.”

Ted headed to a table, sitting and throwing his arm casually over the back of a chair. He looked at the others, ”Oh, please, don’t leave on my account.” He said with a snide tone, he pushed a chair out with his foot for the other, and he tossed his curls out of his face, ”Well, honestly, I don’t see how one couldn’t be territorial, look at her! I don’t see how you ever let her go!” He figured she left him, and that might make it sting more. Or that’s what he hoped anyhow. Better yet, maybe she left the other for him. That’d make it really sting. Ted smiled, and he looked at the others, ”So since I don’t know you, tell me a bit about yourself, I know there’s bound to be plenty you want me to hear.” Ted said with a seemingly friendly tone.

Samantha couldn’t believe what was going on in front of her. She didn’t want this to happen. She wanted today to be a happy day with just her and Teddy spending some much needed time together outside of the school. And now she had him and Rune going back and forth. She rolled her eyes at Teddy. “Actually I wasn’t thinking that,”

[/color] she retorted. She wasn’t very pleased with the tone he was using at her. She wasn’t doing anything. Rune was the one that was being an idiot. She shot a glare at him when he called Teddy a stupid fuck. “Rune that was completely and utterly uncalled for,”[/color] she spat at him. She ran her hand over her face and sighed. This sucked.

Her eyes moved back to Teddy after Rune snapped at him and couldn’t help but smirk. Rune should know better than to start being rude to a teacher, even if he wasn’t working today. It was never a good idea and Teddy was just having way too much fun with it. She frowned slightly when he said that he wasn’t in the mood for sweets anymore. She knew how much it took to get him to not want any sort of sweets. She was a little bummed out about it. She was excited to eat some ice cream with him, and it wasn’t like she could share hers with him. There was crushed blood pops on it for a reason. Her frowned returned when Teddy spat back at Rune about not wanting to get to know him. This was just great.

As Ted headed over to a table, Sam followed suit, and sat down in the chair that had his arm around it. She blocked out their words for a moment to enjoy a bite of ice cream with the delectable bits of hardened blood on it. She looked up just as they both spoke about being territorial. She never really thought of anyone being territorial with her. She blushed slightly and tucked some hair behind her ear. “Teddy, hush and sit please. You two are giving me a blasted headache,”[/color] she replied. Looking over at Rune, she said, “Please, I don’t mind you staying.”[/color] She gave him a smile and lightly hit Teddy’s leg. “Stop being rude,”[/color] she glanced at Rune, “both of you. You’re ruining today.”[/color] They were both being idiots.

Rune was going to reply to his crashing comment since that hadn't totally been his intent till he went on to his "talk to your elders" bit and the finger wag. It was almost exactly the way his father had done it except more mocking and less hitting. Rune's blood came to a full boil and he couldn't keep enough control as his fangs came out and his eyes went from green, to bright green to sheer black. As much as he went full vampire though, he managed to keep a shred of control to not just go after him. In his mind went so many images, whipping out his wand and hitting with a spell to send him flying, throwing him through a window, or better yet a wall. More and more parts of his tone and wording sounded like his father and it only drove him closer and closer to snapping. He wanted to just hurl a table at him, or the counter, or a grenade.

He heard Sam say they were giving her a headache and spoiling her day, as well as that she didn't mind him staying. He got himself under control enough to get rid of the black eyes and fangs, but his eyes still had the unnatural brighter green. He turned to the person behind the counter as he said "two scoops of vanilla ice cream" and put some money on the counter, not caring for change. He pulled up a seat at the table next to where teddy was but moved it closer and away at the same time, and turned his body towards Sam. "If you want me to stay, I'll stay, otherwise, I'm leaving after I get my order." Rune replied. It was rather obvious he had placed the seat there in case she said she wanted him to stay a bit, at which he was outside of arm's reach of Teddy so he was a little less likely to make her day any worse.

He didn't care if Teddy was a teacher, hell he didn't care what authority figure he was he could have been Zeus for all he cared, an ass was an ass, and older or not he wasn't just going to show respect. Respect was earned, not given, and he had no reason to respect him at this point. This was part of why Rune had a lot of detentions, but he didn't care, that was how he was.

Samantha stood there and just ignored the two. There was nothing she was going to be able to do to get them to stop, so she was just going to let it happen. She was still upset with the fact that Rune had seen them. She didn’t want anyone to know that she was with Teddy. Not that he was an embarrassment, which he was, but she almost liked the taboo-ness of their relationship. No one knew and they didn’t need to. She didn’t see why it would be any of their business to begin with. After sitting at the table, she continued to eat her ice cream. She needed the bit of blood on it, and the sweets helped her calm a bit down, not that she was really worked up, but she liked to think it helped.

She looked over at Rune as he ordered his ice cream and came back to the table. When he spoke, she looked at him with a slightly confused look. “If I didn’t want you to stay, I would have told you so. But I said that I wouldn’t mind if you stayed and joined us. Teddy will behave,”

[/color] she said, looking at him. "I should explain this anyway,"[/color] she said, gesturing to her and Teddy. She knew he would, she would have to explain their situation to Rune anyway. When she knew he was going to be quiet and not insult Rune anymore, she looked back at her ex. “Okay, for one thing, you can’t tell anyone Teddy and I are together, for obvious reasons.”[/color] She didn’t need stupid people coming up to her and asking her why she was dating a teacher. Most of them would probably think that it was to get better grades, but obviously it wasn’t, since she didn’t need to take his class this year.

She took a couple more bites of her ice cream and brushed her hair back. “Teddy wasn’t a teacher when we started dating. I met him in the beginning of last year and he was working in Diagon Alley. We were talking and hanging out and stuff and he asked me out. It wasn’t until a couple months into our relationship that he told me he had reapplied for the Defense against the Dark Arts position. He had wanted to work it for a while, since his dad taught it and all.”[/color] She paused for a moment and ran her hand along his thigh. She knew mentioning his dad was usually tough for him to hear, she just didn’t want him to freak out or anything.

“Anyway, obviously the position was still full, so he didn’t get it. But he did this year. So, just after the feast, he and I went to see the headmistress and told her that we were dating and asked if it’d be okay if we continued, even though he was now a teacher. She told us that it was fine as long as none of the other students found out and that she’d inform the other teachers. So…she did, and we’ve been hiding it from everyone else.”[/color] She tucked some hair behind her ear and took another bite of her frozen treat. “That’s why you haven’t really seen me around the grounds during free periods or anything. I usually wait until the halls are mostly clear and I go to his classroom and spend all my free time with him when he wasn’t teaching, or just crash in his quarters.”[/color] She figured this would make more sense to him and would clear away any thoughts he may have had about her wanting to be with a teacher.

Once Sam made it clear she wanted him to stay and wasn't simply being polite, he made himself a little more comfortable. He kept his mouth shut when she said he couldn't tell anyone. Why this needed the preface was beyond him, that wasn't his style seeing as Sam was a good friend. Even if Teddy was being a total douche. Well, in Rune's opinion he was anyway. He listened as she said how they met before he was a teacher and all, and that they talked to the headmistress, at which point Rune couldn't help rolling his eyes. Most people knew her as headmisstress, ms, or professor Callaghan, Rune knew her as Aunt Lidia, or Aunt Vivien, or Aunt Vivi, though she hated the sound of aunt so she asked them to drop it. She wasn't technically his aunt unless they had a common relative way way back in time, but she was a family friend and his godmother so he saw her a lot... and was very well aware of her view on relationships.

"Well I can't say Aunt Vivi saying it was fine and all is a surprise" Rune said, standing up and getting his ice cream as the seemingly nervous counter person pointed toward it. Though Rune just ignored it and the change as he took his ice cream and sat down again. "She's all about what makes you happy and said if I wasn't careful she'd take you off my hands herself.", taking a bite of his ice cream, "Actually called me an idiot to my face for "losing such a smart and pretty girl" somehow." Of course she apologized for some of it later, it had been around the full moon and all so she was being a bit of a bitch. Seeing as she wasn't a full out werewolf he forgot she got like that at times.

"Though, while I get why I'm part of "everyone else" to an extent, you don't have to remind me not to talk." Rune said, "as much as he was being a jerk, I don't care that much. I care about you, can't really change that, am I jealous? yes, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least a little jealous. But the important thing to me, is that your happy, if this is what makes you happy, I'll keep my mouth shut." He took another scoop full and took a deep breath since Teddy had done a very good job of getting under his skin. "As I said, I came here for ice cream, saw you and overheard it all, and was just trying to be nice, as well as give you just a little discreet heads up maybe you should tone it down a little out here cause not everyone in the "everyone else" category, stays in the castle." He put his ice cream down on the table behind his chair since it was closest as he said, "but that doesn't mean I have to like him, especially if he's going to act like that and say things like what he did." Rune attempting to be vague so he didn't work himself back up. "I don't care who he is, I'm not gonna back down, and you know I wont short of you being there and telling me to." Rune wasn't gonna play johnny nice guy if he was being told he should be used to being like a third wheel and all that.
