there are certain people you just keep coming back to ! SHE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUMAYBE YOU WANT HER, MAYBE YOU NEED HER, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged for Scorpius && Sutton with 513 words wearing this. Draco loved his house. And he loved it even more when Astoria was gone. He couldn't quite remember what it had been for this time, some kind of function for work and what not, but she would be gone for two weeks, and do you know what that meant? Sexy party. Time alone with the one person that he couldn't seem to get out of his head as of late. Draco fooled around when his wife was away, almost everyone knew that. Except his wife, the daft woman that she was. And while he sometimes felt like he should tell her, maybe get a divorce and be happy in his own way, he knew that a Malfoy getting divorced was like Voldemort having a nose, it was just not right.
The first day Astoria was gone, he had called Charlotte. She was nice, you know, for a Malfoy anyway. A girl had to reach certain standards before he slept with them. Good looking, obviously. And the right kind of personality. And blood, duh. If she wasn't pure and wasn't interesting, he wanted no part of it. And unless it was midnight, you DID NOT stay the night. No way. Draco liked to make sure that his wife didn't come home early, finding his business in bed. But he did make exceptions, like if she was really good or if it was incredibly late. Draco was a pompous jerk, but he wasn't inconsiderate. And then there was Sutton.
He met her at some club in London. Draco first spotted her singing karaoke with some of her friends. Or maybe they weren't her friends, he didn't know. After getting to know her, he realized that she didn't keep people in her life for very long. The first thing he found out about her was that she was a halfblood. But for some reason, he didn't even care. She was gorgeous and he just had to have her. And when he wanted something, he got it, no questions asked. And was she worth ignoring the blood issue. But he had gotten carried away with her and... oops! A baby came out of it.
Actually, Sutton might be the only one that Astoria knew about. Not to mention she was ten years younger than him. Oh Merlin was Astoria furious. But it all worked out. They had found out a couple years before that Astoria couldn't produce children, the lame excuse of a woman that she was. And even though he had thought about drawing up the divorce papers then and there, he didn't. Sutton wasn't planned, her being sixteen when he slept with her. Illegal, yes? But besides the point. Sutton was Scorpius's real mother but they had to claim that Astoria was, seeing as it would cause a dramatic riot that they didn't need. Sutton knew everything that happened with Scorpius, but lived her own life, and being sixteen, she was happier that way. Lately though, Draco was becoming more infatuated with her, and that was the reason she was here now. "More tea, love?"

HEAD UNDER WATER, NOW I CAN'T BREATHE,AND THIS TIME I BLAME YOU. LOOKING OUT FOR YOU TO HOLD MY HAND. IT FEELS LIKE I COULD FALL, NOW LOVE ME RIGHT, LIKE I KNOW YOU CAN.WE COULD LOSE IT ALL. WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER, YOU KNOW YOU CAN'T DENY. I WOULDN'T STOP IT IF I COULD. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Sutton had received a rather anxious call that morning. And while she was surprised at his tone, she wasn't surprised that he was calling her. Draco had always called her when Astoria was away, and it had been at least a month since the last little visit. She had the feeling that a new business venture would be coming up soon. It was like she had called it. After hanging up with him, she took her time getting dressed. She had planned on staying home today, to possibly just lounge around and get some extra paperwork done. It would have to wait until Monday. Draco wouldn't accept any excuses. Hell, she didn't even bother to brush her hair!
Every time that she went over to his house, his very large house by the way, she would stare at the photos of Scorpius. She was wondering when he would look at a picture of his mother and himself and wonder why he barely had any of her features. Sure, he had most of Draco's, but even she could tell that he had her eyes. Draco had been kind to her over the years, buying her a gorgeous apartment, sending her pictures of Scorpius that she had framed and hung around her new home. Sutton wanted her son in her life, now that she was older. She had wanted him when she was sixteen too, but it just seemed easier to let everyone believe that Scorpius was Astoria's.
She wasn't a fool. Draco couldn't get a divorce just yet, not without Astoria doing something that wasn't written in the contract. Astoria didn't quite like her anyway, after finding out about the first time she had slept with her then fiance, she wondered what she would think if she knew she was sleeping with her now husband. Sutton smirked a little. She knew it was wrong, that Scorpius was possibly happy with the mother he had grown up with, but her feelings for Draco and for her son were strong. Hell, she had sent him a birthday present every year. Signed a family friend, of course. She wasn't that stupid. But if she closed her eyes and drifted away, she could pretend that Scorpius actually knew. Though he might never find out.
Draco had gone off, leaving her to lay back on the giant lounge chair in the living room. And she made herself at home. If she was going to be here for a few days, she was going to make the best of it. Draco never let her leave after two days, so she had brought extra clothes, of course. It was almost exciting, wondering if Astoria was going to come home early and find them together. Oh, that would just be grand. She frowned a little at her thoughts, knowing that she shouldn't think like that, but she couldn't help it. She hated the woman. Sutton looked over when he questioned her, but she shook her head. "No. But you could come keep me company." she smiled. She liked his warmth and knew he wouldn't have any qualms about keeping her warm.

you should know that lies won't hide your flaws
no sense in hiding all of yours you gave up on your dreaming along the way * * * * * At the moment, Scorpius was walking down the path from the school to Hogsmeade. It was a Friday and he didn’t have anything to do over the weekend, so he decided to go home for those couple days. He usually only went home for the holiday, but he knew his mum was away. Draco was usually home a little early, so Scorpius decided to see him. As much as he loved his mom, he was a little closer to his father. His mom was gone so often, he never really bonded with her. It was weird. He knew his father had a closer relationship with his mother and his grandfather had one with his great-grandmother, but for some reason, Scorpius just couldn't get very close to Astoria. He didn't know why, really, but he liked being in his dad's company, so it didn't bother him that much.
As he reached the village, he made his way to Honeydukes. He never went home empty handed. No matter what time of year it was. Plus, he wanted some pumpkin pasties. He went in and bought two bags of pasties and two bags of the finest chocolate. He had to get something for his dad. He knew he appreciated it. At least, he thought he did. He paid the worker and thanked him as he left the store. He wandered back onto the road and thought for a moment. He wasn't in the mood for flying home, so he figured he'd just apparate. He always like the quickness of it. He pulled his wand out and concentrated on his home, well more his bedroom, but still. It was all the same. He felt that familiar tug at his bellybutton and was pulled from his spot. A moment later, he appeared in his bedroom.
He looked around. He missed his room while he was at school. The comfort of his bed. The privacy. Oh how he missed the privacy. He hated sharing that dorm with others. Scrunching his nose, he tossed the thoughts aside and set his bag down and a bag of pasties. The other bags of treats in hand, he left his room and made his way downstairs. He knew Draco would either be in his study or in the living room. Why...he wasn't sure. He decided to check the living room first and headed there. As he reached the doorway, his eyebrow rose. He saw the back of his father's head and the back of someone else's. He knew what the back of his mother's head looked like and that wasn't it. Of all days he decides to come home, it's on a day his father decides to have a "friend" over. He rolled his eyes. He knew Draco liked to mess around on his mother. He wasn't a big fan of it, but if that made him happy, then by all means, do whatever you want.
Hell, he was crushing on Potter's only daughter. He knew what his father would do to him if he ever found out. He cleared his throat as he walked over to the couch they were sitting on. As he got closer, he recognized the girl. Sutton Moore. She worked at the Ministry with his father. She came around often, and he saw her all the time when he went to see Draco at work. He didn't mind staring at her when she was around, but sometimes it was odd. He always got a weird feeling that he knew her some other way. He walked over to Draco and tossed the two bags of chocolate next to him. "Got you some candy," he said, dropping into the chair near the fireplace. He looked at Sutton and gave her a small hello nod, "Hello Sutton," he said, simply.

there are certain people you just keep coming back to ! SHE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUMAYBE YOU WANT HER, MAYBE YOU NEED HER, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged for Scorpius && Sutton with 506 words wearing this. When he invited Sutton over, he didn’t mean to sound so anxious, even though he was. He hadn’t been able to see her. Sure, the small glances to each other at work, and maybe a few words exchanged here and there, but never enough time to actually do what he wanted. Which was what he about to do with her now, in his home. Alone. But because she mentioned his anxiousness, he went to the kitchen and started feeding tea down her throat. Of course, he had been planning on making some tea anyway, but he had seemed to over do it. Mumbling to himself as she seemingly denied the tea, he just left it on the side and went to her side on the couch.
”You want my company then?” he asked, forcing his way to her neck. Then again, he didn’t really have to force himself there, seeing as she opened herself up to him. He loved the way that her skin was so soft, compared to Astoria’s being mostly dry. Hell, he only knew because she complained about the itching so much. Disgusting. And he almost died at the way Sutton smelled like black raspberry and vanilla. Where as Astoria smelt like… laundry detergent. How did Draco get so good at determining smells of women? He didn’t know. And he didn’t want to know. All he wanted to know is if Sutton would go to his room now, because he didn’t want to wait. He had spent too much time away from her and he was starting to become impatient.
Though he was distracted when he saw a blur that surprisingly looked like his son. Pulling away from Sutton like he had gotten caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he caught the bag of chocolate as it was thrown to him and stared at Scorpius in alarm. It wasn’t like he wasn’t happy to see him, of course he was. But he was trying to get over the shock of seeing another body in the room while he was technically cheating on his wife. Draco was more than relieved to see that it was Scorpius and not Astoria. Taking a calming breath, he smirked to Sutton and nodded to Scorpius. ”Thank you, Scorpius. Uhm, a little warning before you come home early, yeah?” he mentioned. Draco loved his son, but he didn’t like being caught unaware.
Opening the bag, he gazed inside before reaching in and grabbing a piece. He couldn’t resist. Chocolate was a bad idea when it was within his reach. He offered a piece to Sutton, now half wishing that it was a weekday and his son was still at Hogwarts. It had been a long week for him and this was only adding pressure. But at the same he was wondering if now would be a good time to mention that this was his mother and he was going to toss Astoria out on her arse. He wanted too, oh dear sweet Merlin did he want too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Looking around his house always gave her a false sense of security. She loved being here, in the house that he owned personally and went to everyday. But in the back of her head she knew that this was just as much Astoria’s place as it was his. It kind of made her sick to know that she slept in the same bed Astoria did, actually, the last few times she had refused to sleep in that room. Which would explain why Draco built an entirely new room especially for her. Though his wife and son might have been told something different. But she couldn’t be concerned with that. Her eyes were focused on a photo of Scorpius and Draco. Scorpius had to be about three and he was just plain adorable. Sutton always got a sense of lost time when she saw old pictures like that. If Scorpius knew, would he be mad at her?
She hoped not, but Draco was already distracting her. She laughed as he dug his way into her neck. It laughed more than anything else and she tried to pull away. But at the same time, she didn’t really want to. She loved him, what could she say? She was stuck in an awful position, she had been ever since she met him ten years ago. And now she couldn’t get out. Though she had a good life. A job she was good at, no one to tell her when to come home, and invites to all the best parties in town. But she did want to calm herself down a little. Like have a normal family life.
Sutton heard noise before she saw anything. Draco didn’t notice anything apparently, because he didn’t relent. At first she thought that it was Astoria and panic shot up to her chest. But she saw similar hair to Draco’s and she calmed down. Or did she panic a bit more? Her heart couldn’t decide. And when Draco pulled away from her finally, she smiled at his reaction while adjusting herself to look a little presentable. Well, this was her son still, even if he didn’t know about it. Sutton didn’t quite know how to be a mother, let alone act like one. She was so used to just being herself, she had no sense of authority yet.
At Draco’s comments, she could somehow sense his slight irritation and it made her want to laugh out loud. But she didn’t. ”Hullo Scorpius.” she smiled. Well, a warning would have been welcome, this was the last way that she wanted her son to see her, but then again, he saw her all the time. Around the ministry and such. ”How did I get so fortunate as to be in the same room with two handsome Malfoys then?" she questioned, bumping Draco with her shoulder. Sutton was well aware that Scorpius knew about Draco’s ‘philandering’ and while she wasn’t exactly proud of it, she wasn’t about to hide it either.

you should know that lies won't hide your flaws
no sense in hiding all of yours you gave up on your dreaming along the way * * * * * Scorpius rolled his eyes as he watched his father snuggle up to Sutton. He knew he happened with her and other women, he just didn’t like watching it. And when his father built the new room in the house, he knew it wasn’t because of that stupid reason he gave him and Astoria. Scorpius wasn’t that stupid. It was either for all the women that stayed over or it was just for Sutton. He wasn’t sure, but he knew it was one or the other. As he sat, his father spoke and his eyebrow rose. “A warning? Maybe you should owl me when you decide to have…friends over then,” he said, as he popped a pastie in his mouth. “It’s only fair to warn me as well, so I’m not…interrupting.”
He smirked at Draco as he ate another treat. He half wished that he was his mother at the moment. He wondered what they would’ve done. That would’ve been as entertaining as ever. He’ll have to keep that idea in the back of his mind for the next time he decided to pop in for a visit over the weekend. Sure, it was a dick move, but it’d still be fun. He ate another pastie and glanced at Sutton as she spoke. To him it seemed like she was trying to warm up to the both of them. Since she and Draco got caught together.
“I just think you happen to be in the right place at the right time. You know…other than the fact that you came to shag my father. Sorry for interrupting that by the way,” he stated with a coy grin. He didn’t care that much that he interrupted his father’s fun time. For all he cared, they could go upstairs and do what they needed to. Scorpius was a big boy, he could entertain himself. He knew they wouldn’t though.

there are certain people you just keep coming back to ! SHE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUMAYBE YOU WANT HER, MAYBE YOU NEED HER, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged for Scorpius && Sutton with 455 words wearing this. In the back of his mind, Draco knew that he was sort of treading on dangerous waters here. At any time, Scorpius could use this information against him. To Astoria. When ever he got pissed off at him, that could all come out in seconds. Mella-seconds even. Then again, if he would just tell his son who his real mother was, everything would be solved and he could possibly live a happy life. Maybe even a normal life. For once. Just for once, he would like that. Who wouldn't want their son and their son's biological mother living with them under one roof. And hell, he'd even marry Sutton. That seemed to fall into that happy category, right? But Scorpius's attitude was mirroring his own when he was irritated, and Draco sensed a storm about to brew.
His son was smart and quick witted, like himself, so Draco knew that the new room wouldn't pass by unnoticed. And the reason he gave wouldn't get by him, Astoria obviously, but not his son. And he seemed to have accepted it all in silence. He wondered for how long. "Bite your tongue." he warned. Mouthing off to him was one thing, but he knew what was coming up next. If Sutton said anything that Scorpius found either offensive or indulgent, he would comment. And the last thing that he was going to put up with was Scorpius bitching away to his real mother. He tended to stay out of it when Astoria was the target. So he might be surprised when Draco intervened.
At the slight nudge from Sutton, he gave her a small smirk before he set the bag of chocolate to the side. That needed to get away from him as soon as possible, or bad, terrible things would happen. Including the death of everything inside of said bag. He was at ease right now. If it had actually been Astoria instead of Scorpius, shit, would he have a lot of explaining to do. Then again, it might be for the best. It would certainly give them all a good reason to separate. Some more than others. Well, now he really did wish that it had been his lousy wife.
His attention shot to the conversation though, when Scorpius gently shot venom. Oh, the hell with it. This was going to either come up now or on his death bed. "Don't speak to your mother like that." he snapped. Okay, it was out, all was in the open now. Sutton might kill him, Scorpius might flip out. Possibly. Perhaps though, his son might be relieved. He would be. Gauging himself, his arms rested on his knees. Today might have just been a giant step forward.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The tension coming from both sides of the room was pressing on her like dead weight. She hadn’t realized that perhaps her being here with Scorpius might not be the best idea. Sure, she had been around the both of them before, but it was never like this. Scorpius seemed a little more offended now, and Draco couldn’t seem to hold his irritation. It was confusing and she was getting the idea of possibly leaving. But at the same time she didn’t want too. He was snapping at his father too. That was unusual. Draco was the golden parent in this house. He could do no wrong in Scorpius’s eyes, at least, as far as she could tell from before. And it was changing dramatically now. Somehow, she didn’t know how to react to it, staring at her hands was the only logical explanation.
Draco’s response was sharp and it made Sutton flinch. Yes, he clearly had expertise in this kind of parenting. If she was Scorpius at this moment, she would be cowering in that chair. Trying to hide herself from view, thinking of a way to make herself seem smaller then she really was. Though it would have done no good, she would still think that way. Scorpius seemed used to it though, like they had these kind of heated conversations before. He was acting like everything would turn out okay in the end, like they would reach some kind of compromise. Sutton really needed to get used to Draco being in defense mode, she was so used to him being… well, not in defense mode. Or not as much in defense mode. She wasn’t going to get into the thoughts of what she was used too.
Sutton was a little taken back at Scorpius’s retort. Well then. She certainly wasn’t used to that kind of tone from him. She usually only spoke to him nonchalantly, about nothing in particular. They both knew what was going on, but they seemed more content to just ignore it. Today though, today he was on some sort of rampage, ready to take on the world, maybe? In any case, what ever it was, he wasn’t happy. ”Oh… well, that’s… all right.” she replied, a little confused on what was happening. It had been comfortable a moment before and now she felt like she didn’t know how to feel. Nervous maybe.
Beside her, she could feel Draco boiling. And then, what?! Sutton shot her head to look at Draco, who was resting his arms on his knees, looking like he was ready for a storm. ”Draco!” she exclaimed. Nervous was among the things that she was feeling now. A bunch of unanswered questions were flying through her head. What would Scorpius think? What would he say? What was Draco thinking? Shouldn’t they have spoken about this first? Why would he just blurt it out? Oh sweet Merlin, what would happen next?

you should know that lies won't hide your flaws
no sense in hiding all of yours you gave up on your dreaming along the way * * * * * Scorpius rested against the chair, relaxing. He may be snapping back at his father, but he was enjoying himself with it. He always got into heated talks with him. Draco should be used to his snappy attitude. Scorpius inherited from him. He rolled his eyes when Draco snapped back at him. “Yeah, yeah bite my tongue.” He hated that Draco was always the “bad guy.” At times, it was better than when his mother was, but he adored his father and didn’t always like arguing with him. He tossed another sweet in his mouth before twisting the bag back up and setting it aside. He didn’t want to ruin his appetite for dinner. Dinner at his house was always delicious, and he wanted to be hungry for it.
When Sutton responded, he smirked. She may have been confused, but at least it was amusing. He let out a quiet breath and ran his fingers through his hair. His thoughts went back to dinner. He wondered what it was going to be. Sweets aside, he was really hungry. He had left the school before dinner had been served, and he was going in the opposite direction of the kitchen. He didn’t want to turn around just to get something to eat when he was going home. It was kind of pointless to him.
He stood up to put his sweets back in his room. He had only taken a couple of steps before he froze at his father’s words. His head shot in the direction of his father and Sutton. “My what?” he snapped. Okay…that was weird. Sure, Sutton’s way better than Astoria, but seriously. Dropping something like that just because Scorpius snapped a little? Sutton was just as shocked as he was. He may have been glaring at his father, but he could see her out of the corner of his eye. His eyes narrowed and he tossed his bag back onto the chair he was no longer sitting in. “Care to repeat that? I want to make sure I heard you right.” He did. He knew he did, but…what? This was too much. Was Astoria really not his mother this entire time?

there are certain people you just keep coming back to ! SHE IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUMAYBE YOU WANT HER, MAYBE YOU NEED HER, - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - tagged for Scorpius && Sutton with 598 words wearing this. Draco knew that this arguing would go practically no where. Usually, he sat back and let Astoria do the yelling, then he would come in and be the voice of reason, typically in Scorpius’s favor. Like he had mentioned before, Astoria meant nothing to him anymore. Perhaps she had at one point, yeah, maybe. He wouldn’t say he actually loved her, but he supposed that he had cared for her at one point. Now, he just didn’t give two damns about what happened to her. It was easier to admit in his head then to say aloud, though he might have to now. If he was honest with himself, he didn’t want to have this kind of conversation right now. He could smell the elves finishing cooking dinner for the night, and he just wanted to sit, eat, drink his wine, and possibly escape human contact and go to sleep. Though he knew that the night wouldn’t play out like that. Not with Sutton here of course, but certainly not with what he had just uttered. Commanded really.
It probably wasn’t hard to see that Draco was boiling. Whether it was from Scorpius’s sudden attitude or from his thoughts, not even he could tell you. But he had to assume that it was from the years of holding this secret in. Seventeen years of being quiet, seventeen years of pretending like he was in the love with the person that he married. And he was starting to get sick of it, it had been weighing him down for the past year. And enough was enough. Sure, he should have talked to Sutton about it first, but then she would have suggested telling him at another time. And the last thing that he wanted to do was to wait even longer to get this off of his chest.
”He had to find out at some point, Sutton.” he said, after her shock. She was the one person he figured would be happy about this. He had noticed the way that she longed for Scorpius to know and she deserved to finally be able to live the way that she was supposed. Well, of course he didn’t let her go without, she had basically everything that she asked for, not like she asked for much. Surprisingly, his miserable wife asked for more money and stuff from him than Sutton did. Astoria was running him dry, in more ways then one. Perhaps Scorpius would be relieved that Astoria wasn’t his mother after all. Sure, the years of believing that she was would hit him a little hard, but he would get over it.
Draco hadn’t just spewed out a seventeen year old secret because his son was coping some child tantrum with him. He wanted it out too. And was it so wrong for him to want a better home life for himself and his son? He didn’t think so. ”You heard me.” he stated. Now that was one thing he wasn’t about to do, play games. Nope. ”Astoria is incapable of having children, Scorpius. And when Sutton got pregnant with you… well, at the time, we thought it was better this way. Lucius was still influencing the family.” he grumbled, angry that his father had actually had a play in this little ploy. ”I’m sorry to have just announced it, but this is the truth. I’m tired of pretending that that… woman is your mother.” he spat. Okay, so Draco had more qualms with Astoria than he let on, but this was hopefully the beginning of some kind of happiness.
