And here we go again, with all the things you said
And not a minute spent, to think that we'd regret
It was just past midnight when Mandy decided she would go for a late night wander through the castle, she couldn't sleep for some reason, and exploring the castle in the silent of night always seemed to help that. She had no classes the next morning, as it would be a sunday so she wasn't too bothered about not waking up early.
She threw on a hoody, leaving her pajama shorts on and climbed out the common room to the seventh floor corridor. She closed the portrait quietly, not wanting to wake up the Fat Lady right now, coming back later was sure to annoy her enough without being awoken twice. Mandy pulled out her wand and cast lumos so she could see where she was going.
She held her wand up high in front of her and walked through the corridors, careful not to shine the light on the portraits, she had made that mistake several times before when she was younger, resulting in them waking up and hollering until a professor found her. Sometimes she wished she had an invisibility cloak, it would make her life a lot easier.
She walked down a flight of stairs, so that she now found herself on the sixth floor. There wasn't much on this floor, just an arithmancy classroom, the rest of the rooms weren't used much, but Mandy found that it had the most interesting portraits off all the floors in the castle. She watched all the witches and wizards who occupied these portraits as they slept, sure that she saw a certain portrait full of men sitting around a table go from whispering quietly to snoring, one of them peeking at her through an open eye.
She had been so distracted by this painting that she didn't even notice someone standing in front of her, she accidentally bumped into them, "Oh, sorry" she said, hoping it wasn't a teacher she had bumped into, they were so boring when they gave her that stern look and took like five points away from her house. She glanced up and gave an apologetic smile.
