Ted had woken himself up early this fine day, pulled his clothes on, and he grabbed his newest toy, a large net he got from a muggle store just for what he had planned for the day. Recently, he'd been thinking about a new lecture he would do with some of the younger students, but he couldn't locate what he wanted to do the lecture on. Normally, if he wanted a creature, he could find it, but today? He wasn't having as much luck. He should have just asked Hagrid, but he didn't want to trouble him, and he was sure the half-giant didn't keep the beasts around, seeing how much trouble they could be. He also really didn't know if these things were his area to be teaching on, but he could have cared less. He wanted some Garden Gnomes for the classroom, and he would find them himself.
He truged out of the castle, cages suspended behind him, and his net perched on his shoulder. He whistled as he walked, and he stopped for a moment to tighten the knot of the bag of every flavored beans he had on his belt loop. He had read the creatures liked these, and he would do whatever he had to to catch some. Really, Aunt Molly probably had some around the Burrow he could have gone to catch, but he wanted a challenge, it'd been a while since he'd gone outside and done something anyhow.
He reached the woods, and he paused as he walked into them. The darkness came over him quickly, and he wasn't sure if this was right. There were plants to eat, and stuff, right? Well he figured, it was now or never. He got ready, hunching over a bit. He squared his shoulders, set his stuff down, and he grabbed the net, and the candy. He tossed some into a clearing, and he hunched behind a rock. "Here gnomes....Come to Teddy..." He muttered, the net being the only visible thing from behind the rock. He did hope this would work, he would feel rather sad if he couldn't bring at least one gnome back to the castle to show his younger students. He didn't know where he would keep it, but if he really got one, he supposed he would worry about that then.
