Ted wasn't much for romantic outings. Truth be told, romance was generally over his head. He didn't know how to pick out nice outfits, or how to impress people, but he didn't have to anymore, which was really nice, he wouldn't lie about that. Well, he would like to surprise her every once in a while, but they were generally little surprises. He couldn't keep a secret to save his life, so he had to do sorta spur of the moment things; like this! Normal Saturday afternoon? Nope, it was a spuratic trip to Diagon Alley for ice cream, that made him seem less boring, right? And, it was out of school, they could sorta be seen together there, right? More so then in school at least. She wasn't in his classes this term, so seeing each other became sorta weird if anyone realized that.

So, now? They were heading from there they had used floo powder to get out of the castle. He had a fireplace in his living quarters, and he was glad she could sneak back there, it wasn't that hard, most people were sleeping in today anyhow. So, once they got to Diagon Alley, he felt no aversion to holding her hand in public. He didn't care, he'd changed his eye color, so maybe he would look a little different. Maybe. He as obviously not a person who would have blue eyes, but they matched his sweater! He did like matching colors, it was one thing he was decent at, since he could really be any hair color and eye color he wanted to be at any given time, assuming his emotions were in check; neat when that worked out.

He smiled, looking down at her, "So, this okay? I told you we'd do something today, and I figured getting out of the castle would be fun, it can get stuffy being inside for so long." He said with a happy expression. He looked younger, he realized, in the outfit he was in. More like a student, good. He needed to blend in best he could, and not dressing like a teacher was a prime way to do so! He squeezed her hand lightly, and he moved faster as they got near the ice cream store, "Also, we're not eating normal food, I want ice cream, that's good right? You still like ice cream?" He asked, stopping for a second, cocking his head to the side. He hadn't thought about that. Whoops, well, he could..fix it, if need be. He was a man, he did like fixing things; so he could fix this if he'd made a mistake. The vampire thing hadn't even crossed his mind at this point; he needed to get better about that.

Samantha was in a pretty good mood. It was a Saturday and she was spending the entire day with Teddy. He even planned something for them to do! That had even put her in a better mood. She knew that he wasn’t very good at keeping secrets, so she stayed out of his head. She wanted this to be special. All she knew was that they weren’t going to be on school grounds, so they could hold hands and kiss and not have to worry about being seen by students. She doubted anyone would actually try and listen to her explanation. Sam doesn’t date teachers to up her grades. She wasn’t even in his class. So she had to be careful when she would go to his classroom after everyone was gone. Sneaking around wasn’t very fun. It was for the first month or so, but now it really wasn’t.

She wasn’t sure what they were doing, so she had gotten dressed in a simple outfit. Nothing to fancy, but not casual either, and snuck back down to Teddy’s living quarters. They would leave from his fireplace via floo powder and go to Diagon Alley. No one would see the leave, and she doubted that anyone would notice them both gone. There were so many students, that they weren’t going to notice one gone and teachers always left the grounds on the weekend. When she got to his quarters, they left and she couldn’t be happier. Her fingers linked with his when he took her hand and she happily gave his cheek a kiss. This was what she wanted to happen all the time, but she knew it couldn’t until her last year was over.

She looked up at him when he spoke and nodded. “This is absolutely fine, Teddy,”

[/color] she said, with a smile. “Being out of the castle and spending it with you. I’m content.” She kissed him again and let him lead her to where they were going to go first. She beamed when they came to a ice cream parlor and laughed when he spoke. “Yay ice cream,”[/color] she said excitedly. “I do still like ice cream.”[/color] She could understand his concern, but she still enjoyed regular food. Which was a good thing, since she had to hide what she was from all the other students. She didn’t need them knowing anything that they didn’t need to.

Took my time, took my chances, went the distance, now I'm back on my feet.

Finally they were at the weekend. Normally a chance to unwind from the week but he had to go to diagon alley. He promised his uncle he'd help out at the shop there for some cash and to discuss the changes they needed to make to the test broom Rune was flying. He went outside and took off towards hogsmeade, using a fireplace there to get to diagon alley. It was faster then flying and well, one of the things they needed to talk about was why the thing had issues with endurance.

He had come in his school uniform since it was actually the only clean clothing he had at the moment. His sister got angry with him and jinxed his trunk so he couldn't open it. Though by the time came for him to take a break he had reduced his outfit to the white undershirt and black pants. It wasn't some stand there and look nice at the counter deal, his uncle actually had him working. Which worked for Rune cause it meant he could work on his little side project broom as well. He just needed to get it shaped right and all. Sure reinventing the wheel was bad, brooms had those lengths mainly to keep weight down and all, but he was gonna see if he couldn't streamline it enough to compensate.

His uncle of course asked if he had any friends that would want some of his over stock to get it off the shelves, and get the name out there, but well, Rune didn't have that many friends that didn't already have decent brooms. Actually, he didn't even have many friends. He knew Sam didn't like flying so, that would be pointless, and well, any others he might have he didn't want to since they were from other houses. What could he say, he was competitive, mainly in quidditch. Plus trying to get back with several brooms would have been a hassle. Of course, this was all while his uncle physically drug him away from working and told him to take a break. Rune decided to go for a walk and maybe get an ice cream or something since it was really hot in the shop.

Though as he stepped out, he saw Sam, then Professor lupin, who was poorly disguised... other then looking like a total dweeb, especially wearing the stripes in more or less ravenclaw colors. Then came the what the fuck moment as he saw them holding hands. Though as he saw Sam kiss him, he had to refrain from shouting it. Every gear in his brain stopped turning as he tried to process this. He knew a couple months after there break up she had started seeing someone. She had a tell when it came to that, bigger one was her vanishing acts. But professor Lupin, her teacher, albeit not this term. And they were out, in diagon alley, holding hands and kissing and... seriously, Teddy wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed but Sam? were they both complete idiots? She was never this stupid or careless when dating him, then again that generated far less problems.

Convenience was that as he lurked a little ways behind them, they were going the way he wanted to go. Rune didn't have a high enough opinion of himself normally, but she left him, and went to Teddy? What they were obviously didn't matter. It wasn't hard to draw the line from Teddy Lupin to Remus Lupin. From what his mom said that meant he was half werewolf at the very least. Then again, he could be surrounded by that many idiots, after all, they'd gotten away with this for at least a year. Now her being around his office made sense. Well, as much as it could when he had no idea why in the hell they were dating, it sure as hell didn't look like blackmail. He watched as they went up to the ice cream shop. He ducked into an alley to watch as they stood outside it, took a second to pick them out from the others around, yay for vampire hearing, but he heard her say she still liked ice cream and all.

He did love going outside, he always had. Even if he wasn’t currently able to chase any strange animals at present or anything, he was just able to be more free outside. He also liked being off grounds, next year, he would make her his wife, but right now, she was still a student. He didn’t know if she knew that, but she was going to be his wife. He’d get his way, he always did. He was sorta a brat like that; but in this case, he didn’t think he would have to take no for an answer, he didn’t really think there was a reason to worry, though he supposed he could ask her. ”If I asked you nicely, would you marry me?” He blurted out without really thinking about it. He looked at her, his face happy as it normally was, as if he had asked something not so important. Though, really, he had. Of course he had. Sorta impromptu marriage proposal. No big, right?

He smiled, and he nodded. ”Good, good.” He would have tugged her faster, but there wasn’t much of a reason to. No need to rush. He smiled, looking back at her, swaying back and forth on the balls of his feet. He didn’t care of people stared at him, he probably looked fairly young, he certainly wasn’t old, he acted young, much younger then he really was most days. ”Just content?” He said with a toss of the head. ”Alas, I thought I was more exciting than just content.” He said with a wrinkle of his nose. ”Good! I can’t change my eating habits and I’d feel awful eating..you know. I love ice cream.” He just talked some days, it was just a thing.

So, if someone where watching this he would have no idea what trouble this could cause him, and her. HE wouldn’t ever wanna get her in trouble though…

Samantha wasn’t even with him long in Diagon Alley and she was already having the best time ever. It didn’t take much to please her. She had a very simple mind and liked little things. That’s why she liked dating Teddy. He never had to do much to put a smile on her face. She walked with him to the ice cream parlor and bounced happily on her feet. She was out of the school, off the grounds, and with Teddy. Her day couldn’t get any better than it already was. Or could it? When he spoke, Sam froze.

She wasn’t expecting him to say anything like that. Her eyes widened slightly and her lips pulled back into a wide grin. “Oh my god, Ted,”

[/color] she said, letting out a breath, “Of course I would.”[/color] She squealed excitedly as she wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug, and pressed her lips to his. She had always thought about marrying him, but never really thought about bringing it up. They had only been together a year, but apparently Teddy had been thinking about it also.

She pulled away from him and excitedly slid her hand back into his. Her day had gotten even better than she was thinking it would be. She smiled up at him and rolled her eyes when he questioned her answer. “You are much more exciting than content. I’m sorry,”[/color] she laughed. “I’m super excited to be out with you. You know I always am, Teddy.” She rubbed her nose against his cheek and giggled. She ran her fingers through her hair as he spoke about the ice cream and smiled. “I know you would, but I can eat regular food. I have to be able to hide what I am from everyone else anyway, don’t I?”[/color] she teased. Of course, he never knew that before, because he thought she was human before the other night when she told him that she wasn't. “Now…let’s get the ice cream, yeah?”

Rune stood there watching and listening to the two. Then he heard about marriage and all. The shock was so much the buffer between his brain and mouth completely shut down. "What are you insane!?" he ended up shouting, the shock and horror changing the sound of his voice. Though he immediately jumped up and used a ledge to push off the rest of the way to sit somewhat concealed on the roof, avoiding the gave of any nearby to the alley he had been in. Though, there was a 50/50 shot that Sam didn't realize the voice belonged to him. He could still hear and see from his spot though. She actually agreed with him and all and kissed him and... seriously she was in Ravenclaw. Did he act this stupid and clueless when he was dating her? A teacher just asked a student if she would marry him, in public, surrounded by people, and she said yes and kissed him. Sure he wasn't that much older but still!

Honestly, he wanted to pull something straight out of an anime. Just jump off the building into a flying kick that hit Teddy in the head to knock some bloody sense into it. This wasn't about any fantasy of him getting back together with sam, this wasn't totally out of jealousy, this was about him being a total dumb ass. What if he got caught hmm...? How far their relationship had gone was something he didn't know but gee, at the very least Teddy would be unemployed, at the worst prison. Did either of them consider the consequences here? I mean they obviously did enough to attempt sneaking around, poorly. His temper was a bit frayed and his fangs had extended slightly as he bit down on his lip, trying to control himself.

Ted smiled. He was hoping that was the answer. He reached into his pocket, and casually dangled something between his fingers, ”Well, that works well then. I have this thing I got from my Grandmother, said it was Mum’s; got it from Dad when they got married. It was his Mum’s.” He said with a smile. He looked at her with a smile, he’d been carrying the ring for the last few days. He was glad he could finally not think about it enough just to toss it out there casually. ”I know you’re sorta in school and young and stuff, but I dunno. It just happened.” He said with a shrug, holding the ring out to her. He smiled into the kiss she gave, and he sure did hope no one from school saw this!

He smiled with a proud nod, ”That’s what I thought.” He said, fakely scratching his nails against his shirt. He snorted, not being able to keep a proud expression for very long.”Oh thank god, I couldn’t deal with it otherwise! I love food too much!” He said with a smirk. He nodded, ”Yes! Ice cream!” He tugged her around. He didn’t really know what kind he would get, he did love general muggle flavors, but he also liked weird things. Maybe he’d try something like grass or something today. He’d eaten grass before, it really wasn’t all that bad. ”What’s the weirdest ice cream you’ve ever eaten?” He asked with a glance down at her as he pulled her into the line for food. He looked into the glass, and he really just didn’t know what was going on, that they were being watched. He could have been being stalked, and he wasn’t aware. He just wasn’t that sorta person.

He scratched his head, and he glanced around the place. It really was a cute place, had looked the same since he was a kid. He was just happy to be here, with her, and he just wanted to be with her. Forever and stuff. He didn’t want people to dislike him, but if they disliked him because of being with her then…they could just stuff it somewhere else! He looked down at her, didn’t say much, and just smiled, happily just smiled.

Samantha’s brows furrowed for a moment when she heard someone shout and looked over her shoulder, glancing around them. Looking back to Ted, she watched as he reached into his pocket and her breath caught in her throat. Her hand covered her mouth as he pulled the ring out and dangled it in front of her. Her eyes filled with tears as he spoke and she was more than happy to accept the ring from him. Especially with it being from his grandmother, and his mother having it as well. Of course, that was usually how it worked when it came to engagement rings. She wiped her eyes and let out a small laugh. “I’m gonna be young forever…remember?”

[/color] She teased, taking the ring. She placed it on her finger and admired it. “Oh Teddy. It’s beautiful,”[/color] she said, kissing him again.

She giggled at him and rolled her eyes when he pretended to act proud. He was such a goof and she loved it. He’d never be able to be full of himself like that. He was too sweet and silly to be. She was glad. She hated cocky assholes, (and yet she dated Rune LOL). She smiled. “I don’t think I’d be able to give up regular food anyway. It’s so good. I’d still eat it anyway.”[/color] She could be a pig when she wanted to be. Of course, it was saved for when she was by herself. She always ate in moderation when she was with Teddy or in the great hall. She laughed as he pulled her into the building and happily followed him. He was even goofier when he was in a extra happy mood. And her saying that she’d marry him had definitely put him in a extra happy mood. Hell…she was too.

She looked up at him when he asked her about weird ice cream. “The weirdest?”[/color] she repeated. “Hmm, I haven’t really had any weird ones to be honest.”[/color] She usually stuck with the more normal flavored ones. She had no problem with it. Her friends on the other hand…they always got weird ass flavored ones. They were odd. She wrapped her arms around his waist as they stood in line, waiting for their turn, and thought about what flavor she was going to get today. She looked up at him and smiled when she saw him smiling down at her. She leaned up and kissed him lightly, before pulling away when it was their turn to order. Looking at the girl behind the counter, she brushed her hair back. “Can I have a four scoop of the strawberry surprise with blood pops crushed on top?” Nodding, the girl scratched it down and looked over at Teddy, waiting for his order.

Rune maintained his spot on the roof, also planning how to get off it without getting noticed. He pulled out his wand and said "Accio blitz jaeger", so he could make it seem as if he had been flying on the broom. As he waited though, he continued listening and watching. Rune wasn't against romance, maybe it had something to do with that fucked up thing his mother had called a marriage, but hearing about his grandmother had the ring and all this, he wanted to hurl. Lord it was like something out of one of those overly sappy romance movies. He also had a rock, or rather piece of slate he was about ready to throw at Teddy but hesitated.

Seriously, proposing and giving her an engagement ring? And what was she gonna say at school if people asked hmm? It bloody well looked like it was an engagement ring he wouldn't have needed the back story to take a guess at that. He put the piece of slate down as the broom approached and snagged it once it was out of view from below. He kicked off as they were walking in and landed as the door closed. He got off the broom and walked in carrying it. He walked up as Sam and the professor placed their order and said, "I'll pay for the lady and her friend" from behind the pair and stepping up. Rune was the type to actually pay for something for his ex and her new boyfriend. "Hi Samantha." Rune said afterwards, before turning to Teddy and saying, "My names Rune, a friend of Sam's, what's yours?" holding his hand out politely. He knew damn well it'd take Sam about 1/1000 of a second to realize he was asking so as to not make a scene and that he knew damn well who it was.

All seemed so well. She said yes, and she would be his for forever, sort of. He smiled, and he spoke, ”Only makes the deal sweeter, though the older I get the creepier I’ll seem, but life goes on.” He said with a snort. He didn’t mind the idea of getting old, he just figured she would leave him if the need ever arose, but he hoped it didn’t. He nodded, ”Grandfather had good taste, I suppose. Wouldn’t really know, I never met the man, but regardless, it looks good, better on the hand then in my pocket.” He was proud to be a Lupin, he always would be.

He wrinkled his nose, ”That’s a relief, not that I can cook, but if I could, I’m sure I’d be sad that I couldn’t cook for you anymore. I mean, I suppose I could cook for you, but I don’t really think you’d want to eat it. I couldn’t ever do potions, and I assume cooking is somewhat like that, and I never was good at mixing things, though I guess maybe now I’d be a little better…Maybe.” He didn’t realize how much he talked some days. He just sort of went along with wherever his mind went, which could have been good or bad. He really wasn’t sure. He looked to start ordering, when something else somewhat unpleasant happened. There was a party pooper here, and Ted didn’t like that. Not. One. Bit.

His hair went from its normal brown to a much more red color. ”Oh, well, that’s nice of you, but I don’t think I need charity from a child; thank you though.” He started as the boy said it was on him. He never really had occasion to get mad, but when he did get mad, he got livid. ”This is cute, decide to follow Sam around now? Jealousy really is an ugly trait, you know.” He said to anyone who was around and cared to listen. He’d make the other sorry he ruined his time. ”Trying to be cute? Didn’t help you the first time around, so what makes you think it’ll do you any good this time?” He looked down at Sam, ”Honestly, I can’t see how you stood dating people your own age at all! Do they all act like this?” He looked back at the other and smiled, ”Well since you are here, feel free to join us for some ice cream. Might be awkward being the third wheel though. But somehow, I get the feeling you’re used to that feeling by now.” Ted said with a cheeky grin.
