THERE EXIST A STAR ABOVE THAT ALWAYS STEALS MY STAREAND THERE EXISTS A STAR ON STAGE THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Daniella was leaving her transfiguration class and heading back to her dorm. She had a couple papers to write and she wanted to get them done as soon as she could. She didn’t have to worry about them last minute. If there was anything she hated more, it was last minute homework. She never understood how anyone could do that. She liked just getting it done and not have to worry about it when other classes assigned other papers. She changed out of her robes into something more comfortable. She was planning on sitting in the courtyard to start her papers, and she couldn’t exactly sit cross-legged with a skirt on. She didn’t want to take the chance of the wind blowing and her skirt going up. It wasn’t something she wanted to happen. She put her wand into her jeans pocket and grabbed her school bag before heading back out the Ravenclaw dorm. She didn’t want to waste the last few nice days in the library. That could wait until the winter.
Her heels clacked against the floor as she walked the halls and headed out into the courtyard. It was still a nice warm, sunny day and she was glad. She had wished that she didn’t have class at all today so she could just spend the day outside, but she wasn’t about to skip any of them. She wasn’t like that. There were a few other students in the courtyard and she clutched the strap of her bag as she walked past them to an empty bench. She liked keeping to herself and not bothering with others. She was one of those kids that you usually found sitting alone in the Great Hall, reading as she ate her breakfast. She liked to just stay quiet and not get involved with any crap with anyone else. She combed her fingers through her hair as she reached the bench that she usually sat at and set her things down.
She rested her head against the column behind the bench and closed her eyes. She wanted a moment to herself before she had to begin thinking for her papers. Of course, one of them had to be for potions. One of the few classes she wasn’t that great at. Thankfully she was really good at research and writing, and being able to make her papers sound fantastic. She let out a sigh after a few minutes, and opened her bag and pulled out what she needed to start the paper. Once she got this one out of the way, she didn’t need to worry about it. That was the only upside to doing this one first. She knew that the next half hour of writing was going to suck.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LET YOU GO you're so deep down in my soulI feel helpless, so hopeless; it's a door that never closesNO, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
It had been weeks since Albus's confrontation with Benoite, and it still hurt. It hurt worse than Albus could have ever imagined, but he refused to admit it. While he was slowly and painstakingly crumbling into pieces on the inside, and while he was visibly sleep-deprived and weak on the outside, he would never admit to being bothered. It could have been pride, and it could have been that he just didn't feel like explaining everything, but regardless, Albus just wanted it all to go away. He couldn't explain it to anybody anyway. Plenty of people already thought there was something wrong with him; to discover that he had been dating Voldemort's daughter would have just pushed the situation too far.
For a while now, Al would try to stay awake at night. He would lie there until he grew too tired to keep his eyes open, and then he would drift off into a world of nightmares. He dreamed about Voldemort and his dad, and he dreamed about himself and Benoite. There had been nights when he dreamed that Benoite fired a spell at him, and it shot a hole straight through his chest. He woke up coated in his own sweat, and sometimes, he couldn't bring himself to get out of bed. His happiness had up and vanished just like that. He couldn't even bring himself to enjoy the nice day outside.
Albus cut through the courtyard, his broomstick thrust over his shoulder. He thought a nice fly might do him good, and it helped… a little. Still, Al was a little too tired to stay up on his broom, and he supposed rest was better than anything. Walking across the grounds, and a little bit lost in thought, Albus didn't really notice the other students around him. So when the bristles on his broomstick suddenly struck someone behind him, he snapped out of thought and whirled around.
"Oh, bloody hell, I'm so sorry if that hit you," he mumbled, yanking his broom close to his body and gritting his teeth together. "Are you okay?"

THERE EXIST A STAR ABOVE THAT ALWAYS STEALS MY STAREAND THERE EXISTS A STAR ON STAGE THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Daniella had been sitting there staring at her potions book for what felt like ages, but in reality was only just a few minutes. Ten at the most. She hated potions so much, it gave her a headache. Writing the papers wasn’t so hard, it was just the subject and having to actually make things. She was the one that always messed something up and caused her cauldron to melt or something. She had gone through at least a couple cauldrons by now and it was only the start of the year. That was why she liked it when they were allowed to work with partners, then she didn’t have to worry about messing anything up. She’d just let them do all the work and she’s stir what was already in the cauldron. That way she didn’t really have to do much, but it still looked like she was working. Whoever she was partnered with never usually minded with working like that with her, as long as they both got a good grade on the potion.
She let out another sigh and picked her quill up. She knew she had to get this paper done. Now. She leaned forward and started scribbling on her parchment, occasionally looking at her notes and her book to help with the paper. Thankfully, she wasn’t going to have to do much work with this paper. After a while of writing, she had half of her parchment filled with what she needed it to have. She wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to finish this entire parchment. She could only think of so much to add to it. She was just going to have to think of something to work as a filler that would make the professor happy. Maybe she’d just rant about something or whatever. She wasn’t too sure just yet…she’d have to take some time to think about it.
She set her quill down and ran her fingers through her hair. She had made pretty good progress in the time she had been sitting there; she could use a bit of a break. She rested her head back again and closed her eyes. Her thoughts needed a break from potions and not need to think about anything at the moment. Just to be completely blank and enjoy the nice weather. She smiled and let out a content sigh. It was a nice early evening. She wished she could just stay out there forever. She loved the outside and always had. Her moment of relaxation didn’t last as long as long as she wanted. She jumped when she felt something hit her in the head and get caught in her hair. She opened her eyes and saw a Slytherin standing in front of her.
She watched as he pulled his broom away and she quickly fixed her hair. He spoke to her, but she wasn’t sure if she should even say anything or not. She never really bothered with any of the Slytherins. She never wanted problems from them, so always kept her distance, and now one of them was whacking her in the head with his broom. She just stared at him with wide eyes for a moment. He seemed familiar. It quickly clicked. He was one of the Potter kids. The only snake. She quickly shook her head and bit her lip. “Oh, uh yeah,”
she said, tucking some hair behind her ear. “Yeah…I’m fine.” She dropped her gaze, not wanting him to think her weird for staring at him longer than she should have. This was definitely going to prove to be an interesting evening. [/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS COUNT lots STATUS finished OUTFIT clicky!NOTES hihi! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LET YOU GO you're so deep down in my soulI feel helpless, so hopeless; it's a door that never closesNO, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS
He scrunched his nose slightly, watching the girl recoil in shock. Albus wondered if she had been sleeping or daydreaming before his broomstick hit her. Either way, she looked a little disturbed. Looking at her a little closer, Albus thought she looked a little familiar. He couldn't quite recall her name, but he had definitely seen her before, and he believed her to be in his year. She was a Ravenclaw, though, and he had never had much interaction with her before. It was possible that they had shared a few classes, but nothing significant stood out to Al.
But the way this girl was staring at Albus was particularly irritating. She looked either starstruck or absolutely terrified, and whatever it was, Al had a feeling it wasn't good. She stared at him longer than he thought she would, and he raised an eyebrow at her to see if she was going to speak. He was considering walking away when the Ravenclaw shook her head and shyly responded to him, dropping her gaze. Running on very little sleep and feeling rather grumpy that evening, Albus couldn't help but roll his eyes. She was just another one of those people who had a preset opinion of him.
"You don't have to look so afraid of me, you know," he said, his green eyes fixated on her. "I may be a Slytherin, but I hit you by accident. I was… lost in thought, I suppose." Fixing his broom over his shoulder, Albus sighed. Nothing was ever going to be easy, was it? One little accident, and the pretty little Ravenclaw looked terrified of him. "Sorry again. It's been a long day. You're sure you're okay, then, er…?" he started, gesturing for her name.

Dani could tell the boy looked frustrated that she was staring at him longer than she should have. She didn’t mean to…he just caught her completely off guard. And he being a Slytherin wasn’t helping anything. She avoided them for a reason, even if there was a super nice person stuck in that horrid house. She never really jumped to conclusions about peoples’ attitudes in the house, but still…she stayed away. She had seen him in a few of her classes but like usual…she would just keep to herself and answer the occasional question. She never really talked much in class. She was a nerd, she didn’t really need to.
When he spoke, she frowned slightly. She wasn’t afraid of him. “Oh, no…I’m-I’m not afraid of you,”
she stuttered. “You just…caught me off guard…I guess.” She brushed her hair back and looked back up at the boy. “It’s fine,” she gave him a small smile, “just an accident.” She nodded at his question of her being okay and then realized that she hadn’t said what her name was. She wasn’t really expecting to. She figured that he’d just keep walking, and not bother to talk to her. It had happened before, so she really wouldn’t have been too surprised if he did just walk away. But he stopped to apologize and she had to admire that much. “Daniella, er…or just Dani,” she said, blushing slightly. She was never usually this nervous, but she could never get her thoughts straight when she was knocked out of them unexpectedly like she was with him. She knew she didn’t want to look like a complete idiot to him, so she had to pull them together quick. She wasn’t sure if this was going to be a good conversation or a bad one, but either way…she didn’t want to seem stupid. She shuffled her papers together, stuffing them in her potions book and closed it before looking back to him. “Sorry for my reaction, I was really just startled.” She didn’t know why she felt the need to explain to him, but it was just something that she oddly felt like she had to do. Albus went from being very frustrated to feeling sort of badly. He expected the girl not to be afraid of or nervous towards him, and yet, here he was giving her a look and acting like the generic Slytherin. How could he blame her for being wary of his house anyway? When he was 11, being sorted into Slytherin was his biggest fear. It wasn't until Harry put his nerves at ease that he let it go. After all his namesake—Severus Snape—had done, how could he possibly judge somebody simply because they were in Slytherin? Especially now that he, himself, had been in the house for 6 years.
He chuckled slightly as the girl stuttered over her words, trying to explain. Then she smiled at him, and Al couldn't help but smile back. He didn't know what had happened, but he had gone from being tired and irritated to being… okay. The girl had a certain life about her that he wasn't used to around Hogwarts. Between himself and Benoite, things had always been a little dark—a little pessimistic. It was always good to vent to her, though, and they had always been very similar. He almost cringed at the thought, and his heart ached—shamefully missing Benoite. However, the vibe this girl was giving off was totally opposite of himself and Benoite. She didn't seem loud like James or crazy like Lily or uncomfortably shy like the other Slytherins; she was just… nice… and he'd been rather rude to her.
The girl introduced herself to him."Dani," he repeated, nodding his head. He leaned on his broomstick slightly, and placed a hand on his hip. "I think I've seen you around a few times. I'm Albus, or… just Al. You've probably seen my obnoxious brother James around causing trouble," he explained with a small smile. "And no worries. I'd be startled too if somebody took a broom to my head. I didn't mean to be so short with you about the whole thing. I think I was a little surprised myself."

Dani couldn’t help but blush when he laughed as she stumbled over her words. She was more used to people laughing at things that she said, not how she said them. She bit the corner of her lip and let out a small laugh after he smiled back at her. She was just glad that he was different than all the others that shared the house he was in. She wasn’t really used to being treated nice by a snake. So this was definitely a nice change. She smiled again when he repeated her name. There was something about he way he had said it. It was odd and new to her at the same time. But then again, he was the first nice Slytherin that she had met, so she could only assume that this was going to be an okay conversation.
She watched as he placed his hand on his hip and looked up at him as he spoke and introduced himself. "Al it is then,"
she smiled. As soon as he mentioned James, she knew that she was right about him being one of the Potter kids. His siblings were both older and younger than her, so she never really saw them around, but she would hear other Ravenclaws talk about James and his troublemaking. She giggled. “More heard about him than actually seen it,” she admitted. She listened as he explained about his shortness, and she understood. They were both pretty much surprised at the other. Her, because of the broom, and him, most likely because of her reaction and staring. She smiled at him again. “Don’t worry about it. I’m surprisingly used to it,” she said with a shrug. It wasn’t really a good thing to be used to, but it had just become normal to her, so it didn’t really bother her anymore. She glanced back at her book and bit her lip. She knew that the paper she was supposed to be writing wasn’t going to get finished right now. She decided to just put it away for now and try and finish it later on. She stuffed her things back in her bag, and pushed over on the bench, offering him to join her. She wasn’t sure what they could do, but it was better than making him stand. She wasn’t rude like some people. He smiled as the girl blushed and snickered slightly. She was definitely rather nervous, Al realized, but she wasn't really judging him anymore; that was how it seemed, anyway. He finally relaxed his tense limbs and steadied his breathing. With all that had happened with Benoite, lately Albus had been on the edge of his seat. He couldn't trust anbody anymore, and perhaps that was still true, but Albus had a feeling that he had no reason not to trust Dani. That was particularly odd for him; for as long as he could remember, Albus had always had trust issues. He supposed that was James's fault to some degree. But it was really nice to see somebody who just seemed… shy, sweet, and innocent. It was refreshing.
Al nodded when Dani repeated his name. She even had a soft, gentle tone to her voice. Now he felt really badly for hitting her with the broom. If it had been anyone else, he was sure he would have apologized and walked away. Something about Dani's personality was magnetic, and he actually didn't mind being in her company. He grinned when she giggled, mentioning James. Of course. His brother was notorious for his ridiculous behavior, that was for sure. If somebody hadn't met them, they had surely heard of him. It was the same with Lily and himself—and it had always been that way because of their heritage. That was why it was so nice to not be pre-judged for once.
"I hope I'm not interrupting your work," Albus added, biting his lip as Dani packed her things. But then she pushed further down the bench and offered him a seat, and he was very surprised. It was the first time in a while that somebody had been genuinely nice to him—nonetheless somebody who he'd nearly injured. Outside of his family, he wasn't necessarily used to other hogwarts students being so kind to a snake. He smiled and sat down beside her, sighing lightly. It was nice to relax finally, and it didn't hurt that it was next to a pretty girl. "Thanks then," he said, looking out over the horizon. "In this case, I reckon it'd be nice to get to know each other a little…." He glanced over at her, smiling. "Tell me about yourself."

THERE EXIST A STAR ABOVE THAT ALWAYS STEALS MY STAREAND THERE EXISTS A STAR ON STAGE THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO CARE* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Daniella couldn’t help but notice how cute he was when he smiled. She never really bothered with talking to guys at all, so she never had this nervous feeling before. It definitely wasn’t just because he was a Slytherin that just hit her with his broom. It wasn’t just his smile either. The grin he gave when she spoke about his brother put a small blush to her cheeks. She brushed her hair back and glanced at his mouth as he bit his lip when he spoke. “Oh, no,” she said, with a laugh. “You’re not interrupting it at all. That essay was giving me a headache anyway. I’m not the best in my potions class,” she admitted. “So putting my paper away is a good thing.” She just dreaded the fact that she was going to have to go back at it later on. But that was going to be later, right now she had a better distraction that staring at the sky.
She smiled again as he sat down beside her. Dom was going to flip whenever Dani told her about actually socializing. And with a Slytherin! Dom was definitely going to flip her shit and probably not even believe her. Half the time she didn’t associate with people in her house. She was surprised that she even had friends, she was so quiet at most times. She gave him a nod when he thanked her and leaned against the pillar that was behind her. Her eyes widened slightly when he said that they should get to know each other…then he suggested her telling him about herself. This is where it usually sucked for Dani. She was never really good with talking about herself to family…never mind someone at school.
“Oh uhm…” She bit her lip slightly and glanced at her lap. “Well…uhm I’m a ravenclaw and we've had some classes together,” she said with a small smile. “I tend to keep to myself most of the time, so this is…sort of new for me. I don’t talk about myself at all, so…” She glanced at him. “I suck at potions, but essays aren’t that big of a deal for me. I’m a bit of a nerd and no one really talks to me or anything.” She shrugged slightly, “Uh…I don’t really know what else to say, so…why do you go now?” Then maybe she wouldn’t feel as weird. Even when she was forced to talk about herself, she felt awkward. It was time for the tables to turn. She was more interested to find out more about him anyway. All she knew was that he was the son of Harry Potter and that he was a Slytherin. Other than that…she was pretty much out of the loop with everything else. She tended to stay out of other people's business when she could.

I DON'T KNOW HOW TO LET YOU GO you're so deep down in my soulI feel helpless, so hopeless; it's a door that never closesNO, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO THIS Albus felt a faint blush make it's way onto his face as Dani brushed her hair back. He turned away for a moment, regained his composure, then turned back to her. All right, he'd admit it; he actually felt rather attracted to her. There was nothing wrong with that. She was just a pretty girl, and he was just being a guy. It was natural! Besides, he enjoyed being in the company of someone who wasn't so dark. Even Albus wasn't all sunshine and daisies, and he had been known to ruin a perfectly good mood at the dinner table more than once (though, usually, it was James's mood that he intended to ruin). Still, being in Dani's presence—outdoors in the open air—it was absolutely refreshing. It was nice.
He chuckled slightly when she mentioned potions class. "Happy to hear. I understand. Potions essays are never fun," he said, shaking his head. "Though potions itself is probably my best class. Herbology… that's another story…" Albus explained. It was the truth. He could brew a perfect potion and write a perfect (yet boring) essay related to it, but when it came to plants… well… he'd had his share of scars, scrapes, and poison. That damn class had sent him to the hospital more times than reasonably acceptable, and it didn't help that his stupid older brother never let it go. He didn't know if he'd prefer that over having a potion explode his face.
Al looked at her sympathetically as she struggled to tell him about herself. It was a nice way to break the tension, but he should have known better; he hated talking about himself too. So when she ushered to him to speak, his green eyes widened slightly and he rubbed the back of his neck bashfully. "I should have kept my mouth shut. For starters, I'm really bad at talking about myself as well." He smiled at her and shook his head. "I keep to myself as much as I can at school, though that's nearly impossible at home. I've got an obnoxious older brother, a wild younger sister, a god-brother who loves to torture me, and way too many cousins. Actually…" he looked at Dani and cocked his head to the side… "I think you know one of them. Dominique? I'm a Weasley on my mum's side," he explained. "I swear she's mentioned you."
